She & Him singer, Zooey Deschanel, is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jacob Pechenik. She spoke to People magazine about the baby news, “Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.” The couple has been dating since mid 2014. Deschanel was married to Death Cab for Cutie singer, Ben Gibbard, from 2009 to 2012. She was also linked to Hollywood screenwriter Jamie Linden. The entertainer recently announced her sister, Emily Deschanel, is expecting her second child with David Hornsby.
She & Him’s first album Volume One was released in 2008. It received rave reviews from music critics, and debuted at Number 81 on the Billboard 200 charts. Volume One was also voted the Number 1 Album of 2008 by Paste magazine. The project peaked at Number 8 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart. The indie pop duo’s second effort, Volume Two, came out in 2010. The album made an impressive Number 6 debut on the Billboard 200. Three years later, She & Him’s Volume 3 was released. The duo hit the road as opening acts for Tilly and the Wall, Camera Obscura, and the Chapin Sisters following the Volume 3 release. The album sold 26,000 copies in its first week of sales.
Deschanel is also the star of the Fox comedy series New Girl. She has received three Golden Globe Award nominations and an Emmy Award for her role as Jessica Day on the hit television show. The actress’ television career includes guest appearances on Veronica’s Closet, Frasier, and Weeds; she has also done voice-over work on The Simpsons and American Dad. Deschanel has an impressive film career too. She’s starred in over thirty films including Almost Famous, Elf, Failure to Launch, Live Free or Die, The Happening, and Yes Man. Deschanel currently has two films coming out this year, which include Rock The Kasbah and The Driftless Area. Her boyfriend Pechenik is one of the producers of the film Rock The Kasbah. The comedy also stars Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, and Bill Murray. The American comedy is set to be released on April 24th.
