Zac Brown Band: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about the Zac Brown Band, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the “Chicken Fried” stars that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: He Learned to Play Music From a Very Young Age. Brown began learning classical guitar when he was just seven years old. It was evident from a young age that he had a gift with music – specifically the guitar.

Number Seven: He Was in a Fraternity. Brown went to college at the University of West Georgia, and while he was there, he joined the Zeta Kappa chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. We wonder if he did any keg stands…

Number Six: He Helped Open a Restaurant. In 2004, Brown helped open a club and restaurant with his father. The restaurant and club were located in Georgia’s Lake Oconee area, and the restaurant was called “Zac’s Place.” It featured lots of southern-style food.

Number Five: He Funded His Tour With His Restaurant. Eventually, Brown was able to sell his restaurant, Zac’s Place, to a developer. He then used the money to buy a tour bus, and he was able to begin touring full-time. He toured all over the country at rock and country clubs.

Number Four: He Released His First Album in 2004. The band’s first independent album was called Home Grown, and the group released it in 2004.

Number Three: He Owns Another Restaurant. We mentioned Zac’s Place earlier, but did you know that that was not Brown’s first venture into the restaurant industry? He currently owns another restaurant called Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Social Club. It features bands, food, and alcohol that has been hand-picked by Brown.

Number Two: They Released an Interesting Video. The band’s video for “Sweet Annie” actually featured footage of band member Coy Bowles’ wedding. The entire video is comprised of actual, real-life footage.

Number One: He Is Happily Married. And he has five children! His kids’ names are Georgia, Alexander, Frost, Joni, and Lucy.
