Xzibit Reportedly Charged With Two Counts of DUI

According to reports, rapper Xzibit has been charged with two counts of DUI. Xzibit will now have to share his plea with a judge. The rapper was arrested in November, following his wedding reception in Laguna Beach, California. He was initially stopped by authorities for speeding, but was later charged with a DUI after failing a breathalyzer test. Allegedly, Xzibit was twice the legal limit at .14, according to its measurements.

The day after his wedding, the rapper posted a message on social media, “Yesterday was our day. It was nothing short of amazing. We were surrounded by friends and family and had an outstanding ceremony. It was not tainted by negative energy and I made sure it stayed that way… I am worthy of being a husband and she deserves the world and the security that comes from being a wife. I have no regrets about my past, the good and the bad. But now, this is my future.”

Xzibit achieved fame as a hip-hop artist, actor, and television host. To date, he has released seven albums including At the Speed of LifeRestlessMan vs. Machine, and Weapons of Mass Destruction. The rapper’s most successful album, Restless, sold over a million copies. Restless featured production from EminemDr. Dre, and Scott Storch. The West Coast rapper has worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Timbaland,Game, Alice Cooper, 50 Cent, Limp Bizkit, and Cypress Hill.

Xzibit is most known as the television host of MTV’s Pimp My Ride. The show’s premise centered around restoring and customizing cars in poor condition. In 1999, Xzibit made his acting debut in the film The Breaks. His most notable movie appearances were in The Wash8 MileDerailedHoodwinked, and Gridiron Gang.

Xzibit has also faced financial woes. In 2009, his home was foreclosed in California. The rapper claimed he hasn’t had a steady paycheck since Pimp My Ride was cancelled in the US. According to reports, Xzibit owed more than $959,523 in delinquent federal taxes in 2010. Due to his financial issues, Xzibit tried to file for bankruptcy in 2009 and 2010. Both bankruptcy filings were dismissed due to several reasons. The biggest reason for the dismissal was that the rapper earned $497,175 in 2007 while hosting Pimp My Ride. When the show was cancelled in the 2008, Xzibit’s income was reported as $67,510. The latest public record states that Xzibit owes the IRS more than $130,000. Although the rapper hasn’t released an album since 2012, he has received work as an actor. Most recently, Xzibit appeared in two episodes on the CBS drama Hawaii Five-O.
