The Wicked Whispers – Chronological Astronaut

[jwplatform DkV10Ipy-Pqiywodl]

Sporting 70’s haircuts and a mix of collars and turtlenecks, The Wicked Whispers‘ psychedelic “Chronological Astronaut” lays out the trek of an astronaut as he observes his fixation – in space terms, of course (Saturn comes up more a few times). But we don’t get to see galactic objects as much as we get a close up of the band singing with a backdrop of fuzzy stars and fireworks. We also get a look inside their minds: “There is no counting the time…. In my head there is nothing but night.” The beat moves forward with trumpets and a fun drumbeat, yet somehow remains trance-y as you start seeing double from different angles. It’s Electric Light Orchestra meets marching band.

“Chronological Astronaut” is the brand new single from The Wicked Whispers, taken from the eagerly awaited forthcoming debut album, Maps of the Mystic, released Monday, September 22, 2014 on Electone Records.
