Number Ten: It Will Lower Your Stress Levels. Many people drink when they’re stressed out to relax, but vodka has a little something extra to destress you. Drinking the clear stuff in moderation will help you relax and can even lower your stress levels on a long-term basis.

Number Nine: It’s Liquid Ambien. Just like people drink to relax, some people drink to put themselves to sleep. Well, if you’re having an especially long night and just can’t fall asleep, try drinking vodka! Research shows that drinking it in moderate quantities can help people go to sleep without having a hangover the next day. In general, drinking the clear stuff leads to fewer hangovers than other hard liquors with more sugar in them.

Number Eight: It’s Fat-Free. It’s no secret that it’s is every dieter’s choice of booze, but do you know why? Vodka is a great choice not because it’s clear, but because it’s a good appetite suppressant and contains the fewest calories of any hard liquor. It’s is extremely low in sugar and only needs to be mixed with seltzer to hide the taste. Other hard liquors, such as whiskey, may require a more sugary mixer if you really want to hide the booze.

Number Seven: It’s a Disinfectant. Sure, there are some notable health benefits of drinking it, but there are even more outside of that! Vodka is an excellent disinfectant, so you can keep your home – and subsequently yourself – clean with it. It’s also a great antiseptic.

Number Six: It Will Extend Your Lifespan. It’s true! Drinking vodka in moderate quantities has been scientifically proven to lower mortality rates in people. Of course, that’s a moderate consumption. Drinking vodka in excess is neither healthy nor beneficial. Stay tuned for part two of our list, coming soon!
