Welcome to Part 2 of the Tyler, The Creator interesting fact list. You probably learned a lot of new Tyler information in part one, but you’re about to learn a whole lot more here in the second part of the article.
Number Seven: He is a Producer on Top of Being a Rapper. Though he is known primarily for his outlandish and imaginative lyrics, Tyler, The Creator is also a producer of music. He has made many of his own beats, and has also produced music for other artists – mostly for rappers in the Odd Future collective.
Number Six: He Has His Own Television Show. It’s called Loiter Squad and it’s on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. It features other members of his collective Odd Future and it’s an absurd comedy in the vein of Jackass.
Number Five: His Group is Not Broken Up. Odd Future – which includes Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis and more – has been rumored to have broken up a few different times. Tyler has even joked about it before, but recently he has confirmed that it’s all rumors and there’s no truth to it.
Number Four: He’s a Huge Pharrell Fan. When you think of Tyler, The Creator’s music and style, you might not guess that Pharrell Williams was a big influence on him. But Tyler, The Creator is a fan, and Pharrell’s group N.E.R.D. was Tyler’s favorite group growing up.
Number Three: He’s a Skater Kid. Speaking of rapping skateboarders, Tyler, The Creator grew up skating and continues to today. It makes a little more sense now that Pharrell was one of his favorite rappers.
Number Two: He’s Not a Homophobe. This wouldn’t be news for most musicians, but Tyler, The Creator is notorious for his use of homophobic slurs. But he insists that he’s not anti-gay, that he has many gay friends and that he doesn’t ever intend to use words as slurs.
