Get to know Julia Sheer. It’s safe to say you’ll be hearing a lot about her in the weeks to come (if you haven’t already).
Five years ago Julia Sheer uploaded a video of herself singing a cover to one her favorite country songs. Tonight, after 70 million views and almost half a million subscribers, this golden haired singer from Golden, Colorado begins her exclusive partnership with Country Now. The campaign launches today (May 5th) on the Country Now Youtube channel
The partnership will include a daily online series called “Blackbird Sings” to showcase Sheer’s musical skills with a more country focused exposure. This is in addition to a new Music Video single which will debut at the end of the series.
Sheer joins such artists as Carmin, Postmodern Jukebox, and Boyce Avenue as intuitive performers who have utilized Social Media to produce incredible exposure. Not only has Sheer a massive Youtube following but also over 280,000 Facebook followers and 50,000 Twitter followers. All this while barely being old enough to legally drink.
Sheer has garnered massive praise and popularity through her covers of famous artists including Taylor Swift, Passenger, and Katy Perry. Such success has put her kong the top independent artists on the iTunes charts and even scored her an endorsement from Oreo. No doubt the record company was won over by her far reaching appeal felt by more than just country fans.
“It’s a way to break away from just being a YouTube star and being accepted more with the country music scene” said Manager Irving Ronk to the Tennessean. “She can really push [the song] to her fan base but also to new fans.”
