Usher Tops Music Charts for Thirteenth Time

Usher‘s “I Don’t Mind” tops Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart this week. According to Nielsen Music, the song received a five percent increase in streams, bringing its weekly streams to 4.8 million (2.2 million of which were generated from Spotify) in the US. “I Don’t Mind” managed to sell 54,000 digital downloads this week as well. The song features Juicy J, and is the singer’s thirteenth Number 1 single. Usher is now ranked number six on the list for the most number one songs on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart. The singer is tied with Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye for the position. Some of Usher’s number one songs include “Burn,” “U Remind Me,” “Yeah!,” and “U Got It Bad.”

Usher will be a recipient of the 2015 BET Honors awards. The singer will receive the Musical Arts Award. The performers at the BET Honors show this year include Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Charlie Wilson, Patti LaBelle, Ne-Yo, K. Michelle, and Jill Scott. The gala was taped a few weeks ago at Warner Theatre, it will air on February 23rd at 9pm (Eastern standard time) on the BET network, and Comedian Wayne Brady will host the event for the second consecutive year. Usher is also nominated for four Grammy Awards this year, which include Best R&B Performance (“Good Kisser“), Best R&B Song (“Good Kisser”), Best R&B Performance (“New Flame” with Chris Brown, and Rick Ross), and Best R&B Song (“New Flame” with Chris Brown and Rick Ross). Usher will also perform at the awards show, which will air on Sunday night at 8pm (Eastern standard time) on CBS.

Usher will resume The UR Experience tour for his overseas dates this month. He will travel to Denmark on February 27th and close his tour on March 26th in the United Kingdom. Nico & Vinz, most known for their hit “Am I Wrong,” are one of the opening acts for the tour. Usher said he wanted his shows to be full of surprises with a lot of special guests. “I am really excited to be with my fans and give them an Usher experience like they’ve never seen or heard before,” the singer said during a press release. The UR Experience featured special appearances by Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Tyga, Ludacris, Diplo, Kid Ink, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri, and more.
