Ultra Music Festival Was Full of Surprise Guests

Miami Music Week seems to have been a huge success this year. The third day of the Ultra Music Festival was headlined by EDM DJ Skrillex. Skrillex’s set featured guest appearances from Justin Bieber, P. Diddy, Diplo, and Kiesza. Along with his surprise guests, Skrillex revealed that the Ultra Music Festival is expanding to Singapore. Ariana Grande also made an appearance on Sunday night during Cashmere Cat’s set. The duo performed their new song “Adore You.” The night before, Usher joined Martin Garrix onstage for a performance of “Don’t Look Down.”

Skrillex was just added to the UK Bestival, which is being held on September 10th through the 13th. The festival will be headlined by Duran Duran, The Chemical Brothers, and Underworld. Lily Allen, FKA Twigs, Four Tet, Seth Troxler, London Elektricity, Flava D, DJ Rob Da Bank, are some of the other performers on the artist lineup.

Skrillex is a part of the EDM duo Jack U with Diplo. The Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack U project was released last month on iTunes. Missy Elliott (“Take U There” Remix), Justin Bieber (“Where Are U Now”), Kiesza (“Take U There”), 2 Chainz (Febreze”), Snails & Taranchyla (“Holla Out”), Fly Boi Keno (“Beats Knockin'”), AlunaGeorge (“To U”), and Bunji Garlin (“Jungle Bae”) are all featured on the album. The EDM project entered the top of the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, after it sold over 14,000 copies in its debut week. This is Diplo’s first chart-topping album, while Skrillex has had two albums reach Number 1; those albums include the Bandarang EP and Recess.

The singles from the 10-track album are doing well on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. “Where Are U Now” featuring Justin Bieber is Number 9 on the chart, while “Take U There” featuring Kiesza is currently Number 23 on the electronic chart. Two other songs from the album reached the Electronic Songs chart too. During its first week of release, “Febreze” featuring 2 Chainz reached the Number 34 position on the electronic charts, and “To U” featuring AlunaGeorge reached the Number 50 spot. The Jack U single entries on the chart have helped Skrillex become the act with the most songs (18 in total) on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The entries also helped Skrillex reach the Artist 100 chart for the first time in his career.
