U2 was forced to postpone their week-long Tonight Show appearance last November because of Bono’s bicycle accident, but the band has rescheduled their appearance for this month. U2 will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 8th, and it seems the band will be on the show the entire week.
Bono has undergone five surgeries after fracturing his arm, hand, shoulder, and eye socket. The rocker recently revealed his hand and forearm still have not fully recovered from the bicycle accident that occurred nearly six months ago. The damage to his left hand and forearm has caused Bono to lose feeling in his ligaments. “It feels like I have somebody else’s hand. But they say that nerves heal about a milliliter a week, so in about thirteen months, I should know if it’s coming back,” Bono told The New York Times. The rocker’s eye socket and shoulder are steadily healing, but the rocker is unable to play the guitar due to the numbness in his hand and forearm.
The Innocence + Experience Tour will launch on May 14th in Vancouver, Canada. The following day, U2 will perform again at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver (Canada). The rest of the scheduled tour dates includes a show on May 18th and 19th in San Jose (CA), May 22nd and 23rd in Phoenix (AZ), May 26th, 27th, 30th, 31st, and June 3rd in Los Angeles (CA), June 6th and 7th in Denver (CO), June 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th, and July 2nd in Chicago (IL), July 6th and 7th in Toronto (Canada), July 10th, 11th, 14th, and 15th in Boston (MA), and July 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 30th, and 31st in New York (NY). U2’s overseas leg of the tour will begin on September 4th in Turin (Italy). The rest of the dates include stops in the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Berlin, Great Britain, and France.
U2 have released thirteen studio albums, some of which include October, The Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby, Zooropa, All That You Can’t Leave Behind, and their latest project entitled Songs of Innocence. Songs of Innocence was dropped last year, and it received a physical and digital release. The digital release was marketed through Apple, and anyone with an Apple device received the album on their iTunes music player. The digital release received a ton of controversy, mainly because Songs of Innocence was placed on over 500 million devices without the consumer’s permission.
