Tyga’s Sneaker Launch Gets Interrupted by ‘Fan’

On Tuesday night, Tyga launched his Liquid Gold L.A. Gear sneaker collaboration at Shiekh Shoes boutique in LA. Hundreds of people stood in line to have Tyga sign their new sneakers, including a process server who waited in line with fans for two hours. When his turn came up, the server had both boxes of shoes signed before presenting Tyga with papers that were later identified as court papers.

Tyga took the papers with a look of dismay and smiled uncomfortably for a picture with the man before the server left. Despite the unfortunate turn of events, Tyga continued on with the signing, staying for the entire event. When the process server left, TMZ’s cameramen caught up with him.  It was then that the man confirmed that they were court papers and that Tyga is not being charged with anything, but he has to appear in court because, “He’s not paying somebody.”

The rapper, whose stage name is an acronym for Thank You God Always, is currently working on his upcoming fourth studio album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, which is being released independently by Last Kings Entertainment, due to Tyga not being on good terms with his label, Cash Money Records. The album is said to feature Justin Bieber, Kayne West, Young Thug, Chris Brown, and Drake and is being produced by Mike Dean, Dupri, Jess Jackson, and Kayne West.

In an interview with XXL magazine, Tyga discussed his new album, which is due out sometime this year, saying, “This new album, this shit is raw. I don’t want to give away too many ideas, man. This shit is gonna be crazy… It’s still story-based, but the tempo is going to be faster. It’s going to hit you harder… I have already, like, 12 songs in on the album. I am probably only going to put 13 joints on there. I don’t want to put more than 14 songs on the album. I feel like it should be short and sweet.” He also stated that the new album would be less commercial than his third studio album, Hotel California. Tyga has already released four singles for the album, the first two charting on Billboard Hot 100.
