Top 10 Winter Beauty Tips (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of the top 10 winter beauty tips, and now we’re back with part two! Check out five more fascinating and helpful tips that will help you stay gorgeous all winter long below!

Number Five: Moisturize Often. And we mean often! Use products that contain jojoba, almond oil, or argan oil to retain and replenish the moisture in your skin and hair. You can also use coconut oil and shea butter to keep moisture locked in if you know you’ll be outside for extended periods of time; however, be sure to wash them off at the end of the day so they don’t clog your pores.

Number Four: Prevent Cold Sores With Lysine. Lysine might sound like a foreign product, but it’s in all sorts of things! To prevent cold sores in the winter, which can be painful and unattractive, eat foods like eggs and fish, which both contain significant amounts of lysine. If you have a habit of licking your lips, stop! Your saliva will dry your lips out very quickly.

Number Three: Go Natural. If you have a sensitive skin conditions (such as eczema or psoriasis), you need to be extra careful in wintry conditions, which can exacerbate the symptoms. Try sleeping on silk sheets, wear all natural or cotton clothing, and be sure to use natural lotions on your face and body.

Number Two: Get Your Beauty Sleep. Seriously! The best way to look gorgeous in the morning is getting as much sleep as you need. The best perk of getting enough sleep is that it can prevent weight gain, which is quite common in the winter time. If you have trouble sleeping, try taking some melatonin or practicing relaxing meditation before bed.

Number One: Eat Right. It’s of the utmost importance to retain as much moisture as possible in the winter, so you should be eating foods that contain the most moisture. Eat foods that have a lot of omega-3 fatty acids to maintain the health of your skin, hair, and nail. Try to eat foods that have fat-soluble vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and Vitamin E in them as well. And obviously, be sure you’re drinking enough water every day.
