TLC is one of the most celebrated girl groups of the 20th century. Though they have spent a considerable amount of time in the public eye – both as individuals and as a group – there are still some things that many people don’t know about them. Number Fifteen: They Were Extremely Influenced by Michael Jackson. In an interview, T-Boz revealed that Thriller influenced them more than anything else. She said, “He sparked it for us.”
Number Fourteen: They Loved Touring With MC Hammer. Chilli said that touring with Hammer was extremely enjoyable, and she also said that she would watch him perform every night while they were on tour. She mentioned that Hammer gave them a lot of advice.
Number Thirteen: Left-Eye Loved to Cook. In an interview, Chilli revealed that her favorite memory of Left-Eye was that she really loved to cook. She said that she really enjoyed being around Left-Eye when she was cooking and that the shared experience was something she cherishes.
Number Twelve: Left-Eye Was a Major Prankster. In fact, on one occasion, Left-Eye bought plastic ants and put them in a line in a restaurant to freak people out. Meanwhile, she was in a corner laughing, and nobody was the wiser.
Number Eleven: T-Boz Had a Really Creepy Stalker. Her stalker was so intense that he would cut out pictures of her boyfriend’s face and replace it with his own. T-Boz was eventually able to take him to court.
Number Ten: They Are Good to Their Mothers. Both Chilli and T-Boz bought houses for their moms as soon as they had made “real money.” They said that they wanted to reward their mothers for being so good.
Number Nine: Left-Eye’s Nickname Came From an Admirer. Left-Eye earned her nickname after a guy told her that he was specifically attracted to just her left eye. It might sound strange, but the nickname definitely stuck! Stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
