Thom Yorke’s Face Featured in Another Bizarre Ad

A few days ago, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke appeared on the cover of a relationship advice book. What’s so bizarre about Yorke appearing on a book cover? Well, the book is somewhat of a sexual manual for men, and it is entitled Marital and Sexual Problems in Men. Oddly enough, the book is only available in Iran. Media reports have concluded that the book was published several years ago, even though the book cover featuring Yorke has just surfaced online.

Yesterday, Yorke’s face appeared on another advertisement. This time, the rocker was featured on a Russian advertisement that promises Yorke can help people “forget about insomnia, fatigue, skin problems, cold, attention deficit disorder, and headaches” (via Consequence of Sound). Yorke hasn’t offered any explanations as to why his images are being used in these advertisements. There are speculations that the advertisements could be used as a marketing scheme for a possible upcoming Radiohead album.

As a solo artist, York has dropped two studio albums including The Eraser and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes. The Eraser was released nine years ago, and it entered the Billboard 200 at Number 2. The project featured the singles “Analyse,” “Black Swan,” and “Harrowdown Hill.” His latest album entitled Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes  was released last year. The electronic-rock fused project was dropped independently on BitTorrent, and fans were able to set their own purchase price in order to download the album. Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes was downloaded more than a million times in less than a week of its release date, and it has since been downloaded over four million times. The album was also available on vinyl format, and consumers could also listen to the project on Bandcamp.

Radiohead released their latest project in 2011, and it was entitled The King of Limbs. Along with The King of Limbs, the band has dropped a total of eight studio albums including Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, and In Rainbows. To date, Radiohead has sold over thirty million albums worldwide. OK Computer, the band’s third album, sold over two million copies in the US. The singles “Paranoid,” “Karma Police,” “Lucky,” and “No Surprises” were all dropped from the OK Computer project.
