Miss Katy Perry was born on October 25th in the year of 1984. Fifteen years ago, she was just starting out as a recording artist, but has been involved with music all her life. Katy Perry (Katy Hudson at the time) spent her teenage years singing gospel. Later in life, she has moved away from music of worship and delved into the world of secular music. Perry’s music now is equal parts rock, pop and disco. Perry fans have seen the singer-songwriter evolve from a tiny church-going caterpillar to a beautiful, bold butterfly. Through these years, we’ve seen her release four albums (Prism being the latest record), win over twenty music awards, (maybe) watched her on The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2, and most definitely cried during her documentary, Katy Perry: Part of Me. Katy Perry is an inspiration to many and continues to wow us with her popular music.
