Teenage Time Killers to Release Debut Album

After officially forming over a year ago, rock and roll supergroup Teenage Time Killers, have announced the release date for their upcoming LP.  The twenty track album, titled Greatest Hits Vol. 1, is due for release on July 31st via Rise Records and was produced by John “Lou” Lousteau, Reed Mullin, and Mick Murphy with all instrumental tracks recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606.  The group, which was founded by Corrosion of Conformity’s Reed Mullin, My Ruin’s Mick Murphy, and producer John “Lou” Lousteau, are named after the Rudimentary Peni track of the same name and feature artists from several bands on Greatest Hits Vol. 1, such as: Corey Taylor of SlipKnot, Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl (who appears on a dozen of the album’s tracks), Nick Oliveri of Queens of the Stone Age, and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba.  When asked if the group plan to do any touring, Mullin said that it may be too hard to get so many people together for a tour, but that they are hoping to do a few late night show performances such as Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Since most of the band’s songs are fairly short, Mullin feels certain the group could perform three or four songs with different vocalists coming out at once to perform them.  Aside from the announcement of their upcoming album, which includes original songs as well as a handful of covers, Teenage Time Killers have released their first single, titled “Hung Out to Dry” featuring Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe on vocals, Grohl on bass, and Blatant Disarray’s Mike Schaefer on guitar.  Preorder for the album is already being offered through both iTunes (with “Hung Out to Dry” available as an instant download) and the band’s official website.

Grohl, who acted as this year’s Record Store Day ambassador, has also recently made a guest appearance on Alice Cooper’s new album, All My Dead Drunk Friends.  The LP, which is dedicated to the dead rock stars he used to party with, features the likes of Paul McCartney as well as Johnny Depp and is “mixed, ready to go,” though the album has no official release date yet.
