Taylor Swift Will Premiere Video During BBMA

The music video for Taylor Swift‘s “Bad Blood” will premiere at the Billboard Music Awards on May 17th. The video was directed by famed director Joseph Kahn, and it is set to make its debut at the beginning of the awards show. Swift leads all artists with 14 nominations this year, some of which include Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Social Artist, and Top Streaming Artist. The other artists with the most nominations include Sam Smith with thirteen nominations, Iggy Azalea with twelve nominations, and Meghan Trainor with nine nominations. Swift, Azalea, and Trainor are all nominated for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, which will be voted on by the fans.

The Billboard Music (Artist) nominations include: Top Touring Artist- Lady Gaga, One Direction, Katy Perry, The Rolling Stones, and Justin Timberlake; Top Social Artist- Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift; Top R&B Artist- Beyonce, Chris Brown, John Legend, Trey Songz, and Pharrell Williams. Some of the other nominations include: Top Rap Album- J. Cole’s Forest Hills Drive, Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint, Iggy Azalea’s The New Classic, and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2; Top Rock Album- AC/DC’s Rock or Bust, The Black Keys’ Turn Blue, Coldplay’s Ghost Stories, Hozier’s Hozier, and Lorde’s Pure Heroine. Top Hot 100 Song- Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX, John Legend’s “All of Me,” Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” and Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.” The entire list of nominees can be viewed on Billboard’s website.

The awards show will be co-hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen, and it will broadcast live at 8pm (Eastern standard time) on ABC. Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Wiz Khalifa, Meghan Trainor, Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas, and Hozier are all scheduled to perform at the event this year. There is a strong possibility Sam Smith will not perform at the Billboard Music Awards. The singer suffered a hemorrhage to his vocal cords, which has forced him to cancel numerous tour dates.
