Taylor Swift Has Number One Song in the US

Taylor Swift released her single “Bad Blood” (ft. Kendrick Lamar) on May 17th, and after just one week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it has soared to the top of the chart. The song’s success can be attributed to the fact that Swift premiered the star-studded music video for “Bad Blood” on theBillboard Music Awards last week. Besides the video’s world premiere on ABC, perhaps the reason why the song is Number 1 on the charts is because Swift is one of the biggest stars on the planet.

Bad Blood” managed to knock Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” (featuring Charlie Puth) from the Number 1 spot, after it sat atop the Hot 100 for six weeks. Swift’s current hit single marks her fourth Number on the Hot 100; her other chart-toppers include “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” With the success of “Bad Blood,” Kendrick Lamar received his first Number 1 single on the Hot 100 chart. “Bad Blood” is the fourth single released from Swift’s 1989 album, which dropped last year. The other singles from the album include “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” and “Style.” To date, the Number 1 album has sold over three million copies in the US.

Swift’s week continues to get bigger and better, as she was just named to Forbes‘ 100 Most Powerful Women list. The 25-year old pop singer was ranked Number 64, becoming the youngest person to make this year’s list. “The singer-songwriter completed her transition from country starlet to pop superstar with the launch of album 1989 last fall, the top-selling release of the year with over 3.5 million copies sold- making her one of only three artists with a platinum album in 2014,” Swift’s Forbes‘ profile read.

Beyonce also made the Forbes‘ list, and her Number 18 position was this year’s highest-ranking for an entertainer. Angela Merkel (Number 1), Hillary Clinton (Number 2), Michelle Obama (Number 10), Oprah Winfrey (Number 12), Ellen DeGeneres (Number 50), Angelina Jolie (Number 54), Sofia Vergara (Number 57), and Shakira (Number 81), were also named to Forbes‘ 100 Most Powerful Women list for 2015.

FDRMX Eyes: Project Revival‘s music video “Pain” is thrilling. The music is fast paced with heavy guitar riffs and raspy, melodic vocals. The lyrics speak of surviving during the darkest times. Check out the video here:
