For those looking for another send up of the infamous Miley Cyrus, Superfruit’s newer video should do the trick. In it the Youtube duo cover almost every Miley Cyrus song in a mere five minutes. From “The Climb” to “Wrecking Ball” to ‘We Can’t Stop” no hit song is left untouched.
The musical mashup has gained a lot of acclaim on social media with many praising the vocal skill and editing of Superfruit. The two had previously gained attention for their similar treatment of Beyonce’s career. The juxtaposition of two men covering the songs from two of the most popular female singers allows their covers to stand out above the rest.
Superfruit is comprised of Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi, who are also members of the a cappella group Pentatonix. Pentatonix formed in 2011 in order to compete in the third season of the reality show The Sing Off. Pentatonix performed extremely well making it all the way to the finals and eventually winning that years title. Since then the five have released three very popular albums, though Superfruit remains a strictly Youtube entity.
