Studio Auction Included an Elton John Piano

A recording studio where pop legends like Elton JohnMichael Jackson, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, and U2 once recorded at, just sold nearly 500 items during an auction. The famed Caribou Ranch holds an iconic place in rock ‘n’ roll history, and the auction attracted thousands of music lovers and collectors. The auction was expecting a little more than 300 people, but more than 2,000 people participated at the live auction, and the online bidding. Among the 500 items sold at the auction was an antique grand piano used by Elton John. During the 1970s and 1980s, John recorded three albums at the Caribou Ranch studio. 

Elton John is preparing for his All The Hits Tour. The shows will feature all of the hits from his storied five-decade music career. John’s tour will start on February 27th, and it will conclude on November 21st. During his tour dates, the singer will perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from March 18th through April 14th. Elton John has sold more than 300 million records, including seven consecutive Number 1 albums on the Billboard charts. The pop singer has also had 58 Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 hits, and nine Number 1 songs. In 1997, John released the single “Something About the Way You Look Tonight.” The hard copy of the single also featured the song “Candle in the Wind 1997.” The Recording Industry Association of America declared the single the best-selling single of all time, after it sold a record 33 million copies. 

Elton John has also won six Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards, an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and a Tony Award. He is considered to be one of the most successful male artists of all time. In 1994, John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. John has released thirty solo studio albums since his debut album in 1969. His latest solo studio effort entitled The Diving Board was released in 2013. The Diving Board debuted at Number 4 on the Billboard 200 charts, and Number 3 on the UK Album Chart. The number three debut was his best album charting in the UK since 2001.
