You can now be a Barbie girl in your Barbie world – it’s true. British shoe designer Sophia Webster is giving women and children a chance to fulfill their childhood dreams of being as stylish and near-perfect as Barbie. With a lot of pink and some shimmers of glitter, Webster has brought Barbie to life with her new shoe collection. The collection includes a vibrant set of high heels, flats, and sneakers.

Webster discussed how she has always had aspirations of creating a Barbie shoe line. “Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project,” she said. “I love that this concept strikes a balance between dream and reality.” Webster really wanted to bring to life her image of Barbie roaming the streets in sassy footwear. “The idea of getting Barbie in some high tops and setting her loose in East London instantly appealed,” she said.

For all of the little women out there that try to match their outfits with their Barbie dolls, Webster is also unveiling a special limited edition doll who will be wearing one of Webster’s high top sneakers. You and your new favorite doll will be the best looking twins in town!

Webster, who has a thing for eye popping colors and eccentric styles, stepped onto the scene in 2012 with the launch of her first shoe line. Webster has stated that she usually lets her imagination take over, and she talked about how color plays a big role in her design process. “I usually start by sketching and letting my imagination run away with me. I always design in color from the very start of the process. I work best that way,” she said. She studied at the London College of Fashion and received her M.A. at Royal College of Art. Later, she interned for award-winning British designer Nicholas Kirkwood, and from then on she embarked on her own journey. In 2013, Condé Nast Footwear News named her the “Emerging Footwear Designer of the Year,” and during the same year she was put on the list of people to watch in The Times. This past June, Webster’s Riri shoe was showcased at the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of their Shoes: Pleasure and Pain presentation.

The Barbie collection will be available on Webster’s website, SophiaWebster.com, and in Selfridges stores in London on August 27. Would you rock a pair of Barbie-inspired heels?
