Snoop Dogg Will Make Appearance on Fox’s ‘Empire’

According to reports, Snoop Dogg will make an appearance on the new hit drama Empire. Snoop will play himself in a guest starring role for the Fox network’s television show. The rapper is set to appear on the show’s eleventh episode, which will air in February or March. Empire’s debut episode pulled in 9.9 million viewers.

Snoop is releasing a new album in March of this year. The new album, Bush, was entirely produced by Pharrell Williams. The West coast rapper spoke about working with the super producer, “It’s a great record me and Pharrell did from top to bottom. It feels good and I’m happy to be back in the studio working with one of my favorite producers and homeboys. It’s different- it’s completely different than anything we’ve ever done. It feels good, sounds good, looks good.” Bush will be released on Williams’ I Am Other record label, which is a joint venture with Columbia Records. The album’s lead single will be “Peaches N Cream.”

Late last year, Snoop found himself in an unfamiliar situation. Snoop is not a stranger to having a conflict with a fellow rapper, but this time, the fellow rapper was a female artist. What started as a joke on social media, led to a controversial dispute with Iggy Azalea. The dispute started when Snoop posted an unflattering photo of an albino woman with the caption, “Iggy Azalea No Make Up.” Iggy Azalea didn’t find the photo humorous at all, and she blasted Snoop on social media. The personal attacks escalated, and Iggy’s mentor, T.I., stepped in and was able to diffuse the situation.

During an interview with the DL Hughley radio show, Snoop spoke about female rappers in the music industry. Snoop believes that female rappers are well-respected in the business, “Female emcees don’t get the respect that they deserve. It’s more about what she look like then what she sound like.” The rapper also revealed how he managed to stay relevant for so many years, “I treat everybody with love and eye to eye…The younger generation could always appreciate me. I love hip hop.” For now, Snoop Dogg has completely moved on from his dispute with Iggy Azalea. His main focus is his new album.
