Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson Set to Tour

After both groups began in the late ’80s, Marilyn Manson and Smashing Pumpkins will be embarking on a co-headlining tour starting in early July. They will begin in Concord, California and travel across the continental United States, while also making one stop in Toronto, Canada. The tour picks up right after Marilyn Manson’s The Hell Not Hallelujah six-month long tour, and Smashing Pumpkins’ short global festival circuit, including Soundwave in Australia and Lollapalooza in Chile.

Although the two groups come from different backgrounds and fan bases, Marilyn Manson recently joined The Smashing Pumpkins on stage in London back in December to perform two songs. Before then, apparently the two had been in a long withstanding argument and feud that lasted fifteen years. At the show in London, they sang “Ava Adore,” off of the recently reissued Adore, and “Third Day of a Seven Day Binge,” off of Marilyn Manson’s January release of The Pale Emperor. The co-headlining tour is called The End Times tour and will showcase The Smashing Pumpkins supporting 2014’s Monuments to an Elegy and Marilyn Manson’s most recent album. Coincidentally, both groups just released their ninth studio album and are running over twenty-five years of history together.

Also, both releases were met with generally favorable reviews from both critics and fans, and both albums have been cited as some of their best work in years. The Pale Emperor showed up in the top twenty in multiple national album charts, and “Deep Six” became Marilyn Manson’s highest peaking single in his history as a musical artist. Last year, Monuments to an Elegy peaked in the top five of Billboard’s Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, and Independent Albums.

The co-headlining tour is a twenty-three day stint, only spanning a little over a month. They will be making stops in Irvine (CA), Las Vegas (NV), Phoenix (AZ), Morrison (CO), Dallas (TX), Houston (TX), San Antonio (TX), Austin (TX), New Orleans (LA), Miami (FL), Tampa (FL), Atlanta (GA), Raleigh (NC), Boston (MA), Holmdel (NJ), Wantagh (NY), Mashantucket (CT), Camden (NJ), Clarkston (MI), Chicago (IL), and finally ending their tour in Marilyn Manson’s hometown state of Ohio at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati.

FDRMX Eyes: The New Tarot is an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The quintet has released a music video that features actress Julia Garner and is titled “Makeup.”
