Skrillex, Mark Ronson Added to Bestival Lineup

The UK Bestival is being held on September 10-13, and it will be headlined by Duran Duran, Underworld, and the Chemical Brothers. The festival organizers just revealed Skrillex and Mark Ronson are now a part of the artist lineup. Some of the other artists on the bill include Lily Allen, FKA Twigs, Seth Troxler, DJ Rob Da Bank, Four Tet, London Elektricity, Flava D, and more. “I can’t wait to see what Skrillex will pull out the bag for a Sunday finale. Sonny hasn’t been to Bestival for four years so a lot has changed for all of us,” Rob Da Bank stated.

The UK Bestival music event recently announced it will be held in North America. The music festival organizers will host a two-day event in Toronto on June 12th and 13th, making this the first time the festival will be held outside of the UK. The Bestival Toronto lineup includes Nas (headliner), Florence + the Machine (headliner), Robin Schulz, Flume, Omar Souleyman, Jamie xx, Caribou, Clean Bandit, Cashmere Cat, and more.

Skrillex is a part of an EDM duo with Diplo, which is called Jack ULast month Jack U unexpectedly dropped their project on iTunes. The 12-track album entitled Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack U features guest appearances from Justin Bieber, Missy Elliott, 2 Chainz, Kiesza, Fly Boi Keno, AlunaGeorge, Bunji Garlin, and Snails & Taranchyla. The album reached the top of the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, after it sold 14,000 copies in its first week. This marks Diplo’s first Number 1 album, while Skrillex has had two previous projects (Bandarang EP and Recess) reach the Number 1 position.

The singles from Jack U album are currently making an impact on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. “Where Are U Now” featuring Justin Bieber is Number 9 on the chart, while “Take U There” featuring Kiesza is currently Number 23 on the chart. Two other singles from the album reached the Electronic Songs chart as well. During its album debut, “Febreze” featuring 2 Chainz reached Number 34 on the charts, and “To U” featuring AlunaGeorge reached Number 50 position. The Jack U single entries on the chart has helped Skrillex become the act with the most songs on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
