Selena Gomez and Zedd‘s new single entitled “I Want You to Know” will be released on February 23rd. Ryan Tedder, who worked on the single, spoke to Billboard magazine last week about “I Want You to Know.” The OneRepublic frontman and songwriter called the new record his song, and he also claimed Zedd and Selena did a great job on the single. “The new Zedd-Selena record that has been buzzing about? That’s my song. He crushed it. I went on a run today and listened to it in repeat in my headphones,” Tedder told Billboard magazine. Tedder added, “Selena did a bang-up job. She killed it.”
Gomez has released four studio albums during her career. Three of those albums were released with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene. Those three albums Kiss & Tell, A Year Without Rain, and When the Sun Goes Down. The pop singer has sold over two million albums, and more than eighteen million singles worldwide. Gomez’s latest project, Stars Dance, was dropped in 2013. Two singles were produced from the album including “Come & Get It” and “Slow Down.” The pop singer recently released “The Heart Wants What It Wants” late last year as a digital release. The song reached the Number 6 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Zedd’s most successful songs as a music producer include “Clarity” featuring Foxes and “Break” featuring Ariana Grande. The producer won a Grammy award for Best Dance Recording in 2014 for “Clarity,” and “Break Free” peaked at Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Zedd’s remixes for Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Black Eyed Peas, and Skrillex also helped him gain more recognition in the music industry. This year, Zedd was named as one of the headliners for the Spring Awakening Music Festival. The festival’s other headliners include Diplo, Eric Prydz, Hardwell, Tiesto, and Afrojack. Spring Awakening will be a three-day event in Chicago from June 12th through June 14th. Along with the festival, Zedd will host gigs in Las Vegas next month at the XS Nightclub. His Las Vegas shows will take place on March 6th, March 27th, April 4th, April 26th, May 17th, and May 21st. Zedd’s next gig will be at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas on May 15th.
