Following the success of his most recent single and album, Sam Smith has announced another tour. The singer will play eight dates across the UK starting March 2015. Beginning with Brussels, the “Latch” singer will make his way through Amsterdam, Munich, Milan, and more before the UK part begins. Check out the dates at the bottom of the page.
The 22-year-old has been all over the news this week. Here are some updates:
– In the Lonely Hour has climbed to the top of UK album charts. The album reached number one in June, and it’s now back to that spot 15 weeks after its debut. His latest single, “I’m Not The Only One,” peaked at number five in the singles category.
– Mary J. Blige and Disclosure teamed up with the soulful singer for “Right Now,” a track off Blige’s upcoming The London Sessions. While it’s an unlikely trio, the song is punctuated, smooth, and paced – it makes perfect sense when you hear it. The track was released online earlier this week.
– “Stay With Me” is going through an evolution. This week, FKA Twigs and Charlie XCX both covered the melancholic hit. Charlie’s was a slightly more popped-up version of the tune (and she changed “man” to “girl”), and Twigs’ did an eerie, drawn-out rendition with more complicated chords.
– Smith also did a cover of his own. Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” has seen many revisions, but he brought a little something extra to it. It’s classy, and we think he did it justice.
