Sam Hunt, Styx Performing at Toadlick Festival

The Toadlick Music Festival will be held in Dothan, Alabama on April 23rd through the 25th. The festival’s artist lineup includes Sam Hunt, Styx, Bret Michaels (Poison), Lee Brice, Randy Houser, Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, and Hank Williams Jr. The Toadlick festival organizer Chris Gilbert spoke to Billboard magazine about the success of the music festival. “This is our fourth year which is pretty impressive in its own right for a music festival. It was just an idea that we had a few years ago, and we decided to do it,” Gilbert told Billboard. He added,”We love all kinds of music and love outdoor festivals and we just decided to give it our best shot.”

Gilbert also said the festival’s winning formula is to make sure the artists are compensated, and keep the fans satisfied with the event. He believes as long as the fans are happy, they will come back to the festival every year. “Everybody that comes to the festival comes back, and that ensures the growth that we’ve seen each year. That’s what you want to see. You want to get bigger and better, and that’s what we’ve done,” Gilbert stated. The organizer said promoting music festivals are not for the “faint of heart,” and that’s why so many festivals come and go.

Gilbert takes pride in keeping the ticket prices at the festival at an affordable rate. “We try to keep [prices] affordable. We’re not going to hound you for every five or ten dollars once you get here. We’re going to do our best to put on one heck of a show and to entertain you,” he explained to Billboard magazine. The Toadlick Music Festival will have two legendary country singers on the bill this year, which include Alabama and Hank Williams Jr. Gilbert said having them on the artist lineup is a big deal for the state of Alabama. “That’s a big deal to land Alabama. They are a mainstay in this area for a long time, along with Hank Williams Jr. We’ve got legends and some of the biggest newcomers in music too,” Gilbert said. Tickets for the Toadlick Music Festival can be purchased on the festival’s website.
