Ryan Adams Files for Divorce from Mandy Moore

After nearly six years of marriage, Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore are getting a divorce. According to People magazine, Adams filed for divorce from Moore. The couple married in March 2009, and they released a statement to the media regarding their split, saying, “It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time.”

Mandy Moore exploded on the music scene with her breakout hit “Candy” in 1999. The song peaked at Number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was featured on her album So Real, which was certified platinum after selling five million copies worldwide. After the release of So Real, Moore released five more albums. Her last album, Amanda Leigh, was released in 2009. The album was surprisingly a folk album with pop and country music elements. The independent release peaked at Number 4 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart. Amanda Leigh sold a respective 100,000 copies.

Aside from her music career, Moore has starred in a number of films. She has also made a great deal of television guest appearances. The actress’ first big screen movie was voice-over work for the film Dr. Doolittle 2 in 2001. Moore also appeared in The Princess Diaries film in 2001. The following year, Moore starred in the movie A Walk to Remember, in which she won a MTV Movie Award for Best Female Breakthrough Performance. The actress would go on to star in a number of films following her acting debut in 2001. One of her most successful films was Tangled in 2010, Moore was the voice for Rapunzel. Moore’s television resume includes guest appearances on Entourage, The Simpsons, How I Met Your Mother, and Grey’s Anatomy

Ryan Adams is a singer-songwriter and music producer. As a musician, he has released fourteen studio albums.
