Rihanna Demands Money from Jimmy Kimmel, Bitch

Yesterday, people across the world celebrated April Fools Day in style, but Rihanna took things to an entirely new level with an epic prank that she pulled on Jimmy Kimmel. This year, the pop superstar went all out with her April Fools Day antics, and she put most of her effort into pranking Kimmel.

How did she do it; by sneaking into Kimmel’s house to wake him up in the middle of the night with a performance of her new single, “Bitch Better Have My Money.” Kimmel and Rihanna relived the moment and shared the video footage from the event later that day when Rihanna appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

At 1:05 AM, Rihanna and her crew, comprised of dancers and lighting experts, entered Kimmel’s house with the assistance of his wife, Molly McNearney. Dressed in all black, Rihanna snuck up the stairs into Kimmel’s bedroom where she woke the television host up by throwing a stack of money at him while screaming “wake the f*** up Jimmy.”

Confetti fell from the sky and a full-on light show began as Rihanna worked her way through some choreography with her crew. As the song progressed, pillows were thrown, and Rihanna proceeded to jump onto Kimmel’s bed before exiting the room and cryptically proclaiming, “I want my money Jimmy.”

Kimmel compared the performance to a UFO landing and later joked that it was “not usually the way that you (Rihanna) come to me in my dreams.” He also inquired into the meaning behind the song, “Bitch Better Have My Money.” Rihanna kept rather mum about the subject, implying that all would be revealed with the debut of the single’s music video. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Rihanna debuted “Bitch Better Have My Money” on March 26th, after teasing the release the night before. Jamille Pierre, Badriia Bourelly, Rihanna, and Travis Scott wrote the song with production from Scott, Kanye West, Deputy, and Wondagurl. “Bitch Better Have My Money” is the second single from Rihanna’s currently untitled eighth studio album, and it has been hailed as the musician’s return to a more urban sound after the folk-inspired “FourFiveSeconds.” The pop siren went on to perform the single at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and her performance was critically acclaimed. Armed with high sales from the surprise release and the performance, “Bitch Better Have My Money” debuted at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
