Rick Ross Reveals Wale’s Album Release Date

Rick Ross revealed Wale‘s The Album About Nothing will be released on March 31st. Wale signed to Ross’ Maybach Music Group in 2011. The Album About Nothing will be the rapper’s third album as a Maybach Music recording artist. Wale’s The Gifted album was released almost two years ago, and it entered the Billboard 200 charts at the Number 1 position. The project produced four singles including “Bad,” “LoveHate Thing,” “Bad (Remix),” and “Clappers.” Gifted had a number of guest appearances from some of today’s biggest artists including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, and 2 Chainz. To date, the effort has sold close to 400,000 copies.

During his red carpet interview at the Grammy Awards last night, the rapper also said he is excited Meek Mill is back home. Meek Mill is also signed to Ross’ Maybach Music label, and he recently served five months in jail for violating his probation. Mill’s Dreams Worth More Than Money is expected to be released this year. “The streets are ready to give Meek Mill the crown. We are excited to see his level of excitement, see what he’s doing in the studio. Most importantly, see him back with his family and spending time with his son,” Rick Ross told Billboard magazine. Meek Mill was a featured guest at Big Sean‘s House of Blues show last night. The rapper performed “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)” and “Burn.” The show also featured appearances by Kanye West, J. Cole, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Tyga, and more. Superstars Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, and Calvin Harris were a few of the celebrity audience members. Meek Mill also hosted a post-Grammy party last night. French Montana, Khloe Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and Chris Brown all attended the rapper’s exclusive party in Beverly Hills, California.

Rick Ross said there is a good chance he will also release an album this year. The rapper put out two projects last year including Mastermind and Hood Billionaire. Since 2006, Ross has released seven albums and his God Forgives, I Don’t project was nominated for a Grammy in 2013. To date, Rick Ross has been nominated for five Grammy Awards, but he has not won a Grammy yet. This year, he was nominated for three Grammy awards for his features on Chris Brown’s “Flame” song (Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song) and Luke James’ “Options” song (Best R&B Song).
