Rapper Azizi Gibson’s New Project Has Arrived

Rapper Azizi Gibson is back with another project entitled The Last EP. His seven-track EP is currently available online through several hip hop music outlets. The Last EP is his follow-up to last year’s Backward Books EP, which featured several underground hits including “Smoking With the Gods.” The song was a smash online, and it generated over one million plays on Soundcloud. Gibson is hoping “Claustrophobic,” the lead single from his new EP, will be able to garner the same success as “Smoking With the Gods.”

Gibson is currently in the recording studio working on his studio album with Grammy Award winning producer Scoop DeVille, and super producer Southside. Scoop DeVille has worked with Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent. Southside’s production resume includes working with Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Wale, and Nicki Minaj. Azizi Gibson is headed to several music festivals this month. One of his stops includes the Red Bull Sound Select tour on February 27th and March 1st in New Zealand. Other artists on the bill include Kamandi, Black City Lights, Race Banyon, and Eastern Bloc. Red Bull Sound Select is an artist development program and music platform for emerging recording artists.

Gibson’s career officially started in 2013 when he ran into Flying Lotus at an apartment complex in Los Angeles. The exchange between the two rappers resulted in Flying Lotus signing the rapper to his Brainfeeder record label. Flying Lotus has worked with Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg, and other recording artists. After signing with Flying Lotus’ record label, Gibson started performing at several music festivals in order to build his fan base and create a buzz in the music business. Last year, he shared the stage with Chance the Rapper, and he embarked on his first tour with the Underachievers. Gibson is continuing to make positive moves in the music industry. Fans are hoping Azizi Gibson will drop a studio album late this year. In the meantime, the rapper has just signed a management deal with Waka Flocka‘s 36Brickhouse squad. Rapper Joey Fatts is also signed to the management company. There is a strong possibility Flying Lotus and Waka Flocka will make a guest appearance on Gibson’s studio album.
