Raekwon Slams Wu-Tang’s Better Tomorrow Album

Wu-Tang Clan‘s Raekwon has been very honest and critical of the group’s 20th anniversary album A Better Tomorrow“That album felt kinda bored, and that’s just my opinion. The music was just too soft. Too humble. I felt like the album could have been better,” Raekwon told NME. He continued, “I voiced my opinion like, ‘Yo lets give them some real shit.’ The album was driven more to RZA‘s expectations. He was coming from one way, we was wanting to try something new.” Raekwon also revealed he’s not going on tour with Wu-Tang, who will be traveling to do shows in the UK this year. “Fans will think it’s beef in the group, but it’s all management. I didn’t know shit about the tour. They just assume I’m good to be there and put it all together,” the rapper said to NME. He added, “I got obligations, a f***ing schedule. It’s frustrating because I’d love to be there.”

Right now, Raekwon is focused on his upcoming solo project Fly International Luxurious Art. The album will be released on April 28th, and Raekwon promised Fly International Luxurious Art is his “dopest” project. The rapper is also working on getting funding for The Purple Tape Files documentary, which is his film with Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah. The documentary centers around the creation of Raekwon’s debut solo project, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx

The rappers are seeking funding by a fan-supported website called FanBacked. Raekwon and Ghostface‘s FanBacked page offers different rewards for fans who donate money. The rewards, which are dependent on how much is donated, include a 20th anniversary Purple Tape Sticker Pack, T-shirts, hats, key chains, DVD/BluRay collector editions, signed posters, and several other items. Raekwon and Ghostface are also reviewing mixtapes, and fans will also have the opportunity to get their name listed on the documentary’s credits. Some of the large donations include an All-Access pass to Raekwon’s shows, a private invite to the film’s launch party, studio time with Raekwon, a visit to the Purple Tape Files‘ set, and a chance to spend the day with Raekwon.

Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was released twenty years ago. Although it was a solo release, the album featured all of the members of Wu-Tang Clan (except for Ol’ Dirty Bastard). Only Built 4 Cuban Linx has sold over one million copies, and it entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at Number 4.

FDRMX Eyes: Suns is an electro dance duo from the UK. The music project has released an electrifying music video entitled “Bells.”
