Pitbull Launching Globalization SiriusXM Channel

Pitbull is launching his own SiriusXM channel, which will be named Globalization (also the name of his 2014 album). The radio station will be commercial-free, and it will of course play the rapper’s music, which will include his live performances. Pitbull is one of the latest artists to sign a partnership with SiriusXM. Eminem, Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Tiesto, Willie Nelson, and Ozzy Osbourne, have all signed partnerships with the SiriusXM. The Globalization launch will be celebrated in New York at the Apollo Theater (Harlem) on May 19th. The invite-only concert will be streamed live on the Globalization channel. Pitbull‘s latest album Globalization is the rapper’s eighth album. The project reached Number 18 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, and it also impacted the charts in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Globalization produced five singles including “Wild Wild Love,” “We Are One (Ole Ola),” “Fireball,” “Celebrate,” and “Time of Our Lives.” “Time of Our Lives” featuring Ne-Yo is currently Number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The hit song has spent fourteen weeks on the Hot 100 chart, and it is also Pitbull’s tenth Top 10 record on the chart. 

Pitbull’s other albums include his two gold albums, M.I.A.M.I and Planet Pit. M.I.A.M.I (Money Is A Major Issue) was his debut studio album, and it featured production from Lil Jon and Jim Jonsin. Planet Pit debuted at Number 7 on the Billboard 200, and it featured the hit singles “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojak, and Nayer, “Rain Over Me” featuring Marc Anthony, and “International Love” featuring Chris Brown. El Mariel, The Boatlift, Rebelution, Armando, and Global Warming round out the rest of Pitbull’s projects. 

Pitbull has headlined four major tours in the last four years. His first worldwide tour, Rebelution, began in 2009 and ended two years later. In 2012, Pitbull embarked on his second worldwide tour called the Planet Pit World Tour, which featured appearances from his fellow Miami rapper Flo Rida and Taio Cruz. His last two tours, 2013 North American Tour and the Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias Tour were co-headlined by other major label artists. Pitbull’s 2013 North American Tour was also headlined by pop singer Kesha. Last week, the rapper launched his Pitbull Live in Hong Kong concert.
