Pitbull Electrifies at Latin Music Festival

Rapper Pitbull‘s star shined bright at Calibash 2015Calibash is considered to be the leading urban Latin music festival in the world. The sold-out audience at the Staples Center in Los Angeles roared when the rapper declared Los Angeles was his number one market. Pitbull performed some of his biggest hits including “Give Me Everything,” “Timber,” and “Time of Our Lives.” Calibash 2015 was presented by AEG Live and Mega 96.3 FM. The event features the ten best Latin artists of the moment who represent different genres of music. Besides Pitbull, this year’s concert featured performances by Carlos Vives, Maluma, Don Omar, Tego Calderon,Wisin, Plan B, Farruko, and J AlvarezCalibash has also invited American recording artists to its music festival. Chris Brown, LMFAO, and 50 Cent have all graced the stage at Calibash in the past.

Pitbull has headlined four major tours in the last four years. His first worldwide tour, Rebelutionstarted in 2009 and ended two years later. The rapper performed a total of fifty-one shows, including thirty-eight dates in North America. In 2012, Pitbull embarked on his second worldwide tour called the Planet Pit World Tour. The concert dates featured appearances from his fellow Miami rapper Flo Rida and Taio Cruz. The Planet Pit World Tour was made up of seventy-four dates, including stops in Europe, Asia, and Africa. His last two tours, 2013 North American Tour and the Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias Tour were co-headlined by other major recording artists. Pitbull’s 2013 North American Tour was also headlined by pop star Kesha.

Pitbull has released eight albums including his two gold albums, M.I.A.M.I (2004) and Planet Pit (2011). M.I.A.M.I (Money Is A Major Issue) was his first studio album, and it featured production from Lil Jon, Jim Jonsin, and the Diaz Brothers. Five songs were released from the project including “Culo,” “That’s Nasty,” and “Back Up.” Planet Pit debuted at Number 7 on the Billboard 200, and generated sales of 55,000 in its debut week. It became the rapper’s highest-charting album in the US. The project features some of the biggest chart-topping singles of 2011 including “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojak, and Nayer, “Rain Over Me” featuring Marc Anthony, and “International Love” featuring Chris Brown.
