Pink Speaks Her Mind About Her Weight

After stepping out for the John Wayne 30th Annual Odyssey Ball, musician Pink received some backlash regarding her figure. Dressed in a low cut but glamorous black gown, the “Get This Party Started” siren made headlines for sporting a slightly larger figure than expected. Pink is no stranger to speaking her mind, and following the body shaming that she received, the musician decided to speak out. The overwhelming message to her response was “I feel beautiful.”

In a message posted to social media, Pink defended her proposed weight gain, claiming that she was happier than ever before and still felt beautiful. The musician revealed that she was attending the event in honor of a “dear friend Dr. Maggie DiNome,” who had received the Duke Award “for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer.” Pink felt that the comments regarding her weight took away from DiNome’s contributions, as her appearance was more important and headline-grabbing than the other news from the evening.

She went on to state “that dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen;” however, she still felt “very pretty.” The musician who is world renowned for her tight body and her extreme gymnastic routines explained, “I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off.” In 2014, Pink finished up her The Truth About Love tour, and it seems as though she is still recovering from her experiences on the road. Eternally positive, Pink signed the body confident message to her haters: “love, cheesecake.”

Pink attended the Los Angeles charity event with her husband Cary Hart. She went on to state that Hart loves her body. “It’s just more to love baby,” she explained he liked to say while caressing her new curves in the grocery store. Her daughter Willow has also commented on the weight gain, asking why her middle has become “squishy.” Pink didn’t let the innocent question bother her at all, replying that it was because she was “happy.”

Pink’s last album was released alongside City and Coulour lead singer Dallas Green under the assumed name of You+Me. The duo released their folk-inspired rose ave. in 2014 to rave reviews. The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and made its way to the top of the US Folk Albums chart. Pink remains signed with RCA records for a multi-record deal, and she is still working on her follow-up to her previous solo effort, 2012’s The Truth About Love.
