Photos from Beatles First US Tour Impact Auction

Photographs from The Beatles first US tour have hit the auction block. Most of the photos were taken in one session during the Beatles first ever US tour in 1964. Eve Bowen was able to capture these moments by documenting the band’s epic journey. Some of the photos feature The Beatles’ train ride from New York to Washington D.C., as well as the band’s press conference for their tour. The photo from The Beatles’ dress rehearsal for the Ed Sullivan Show is also available on the auction; the photo shows the band rehearsing “I Want To Hold Your Hand” in 1964. The auction started today at 12pm (Eastern standard time), and it is being held on the Invaluable website.

In related Beatles news, Paul McCartneyrevealed the details regarding his first US arena show this year. The legend will perform on June 21st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tickets for his show are on sale now, and the tickets can be purchased on the Ticketmaster website. Along with his show in Philadelphia, McCartney will also perform at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover (Delaware) and Lollapalooza on July 31st in Grant Park (Chicago). This month, McCartney is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom for shows in London on May 23rd and 24th, Birmingham on May 27th, and Liverpool on May 28th. McCartney will also perform in Marseille, France on June 5th; Amsterdam, Netherlands on June 7th and 8th; Roskilde, Denmark on July 4th; Fornebu, Norway on July 7th; and Johanneshov, Sweden on July 9th.

Some of those projects include Wild Life, Venus and Mars, Wings at the Speed of Sound, Back to the Egg, Tug of War,Give My Regards to Broad Street, Pipes of Peace, and his latest effort New. New was dropped in 2013, and it features the singles “New,” “Queenie Eye,” “Save Us,” “Appreciate,” and “Early Days.” The project reached Number 3 on the Billboard 200, UK Albums, and Canadian Albums chart. New features production by Paul Epworth (Florence + the Machine and Adele) Mark Ronson, and Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams and Ray LaMontagne).
