Philly Welcomes Meek Mill Back With Concert

Meek Mill‘s “Welcome Back” concert took place in his hometown of Philadelphia last night. It was the first time the rapper performed in Philadelphia, since he was released from prison last December. The “Welcome Back” show featured performances by Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, Jadakiss, and DJ Khaled.

Last week, Meek Mill‘s “Monster” and “B Boy” (featuring Big Sean and A$AP Ferg) entered the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. “Monster” debuted on the chart at Number 30, and “B Boy” reached Number 39 on the music chart. “Monster” sold over 32,000 digital copies, while “B Boy” managed to sell a little over 28,000 copies. Mill’s Number 30 entry is the rapper’s highest debut on the music charts. Both songs will be on the rapper’s upcoming studio album, which is expected to be released this year.

To date, Meek Mill has dropped one studio album, Dreams and Nightmares. The debut project was released in 2012, and it featured guest appearances from Rick Ross, Nas, Big Sean, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and more. Dreams and Nightmares produced four singles including “Amen” featuring Drake, “Burn” featuring Big Sean, “Young & Gettin’ It” featuring Kirko Bangz, and “Believe It” featuring Rick Ross. The album peaked at Number 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart, and it reached the top position on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
