Tonight, Hawaii’s longtime reggae-rock outfit, Pepper, begins their annual headlining Fall Tour. Joining the trio from Kona Town on their most recent nationwide run will be South Carolina’s The Movement and Los Angeles’ New Beat Fund.
Proudly representing Kona Town in their music and lifestyle since 1997, Pepper has spent most of this year touring while also making appearances at major music festivals around the United States in support of their sixth full-length record. The self-titled album, which was released on September 3rd, 2013, features a much different sound than most old-school Pepper fans are used to. Throughout their evolution, the band has quickly gone from an underground three-piece to radio and television favorites with hits like “Give It Up” and “No Control.” Although their revamped sound still holds reggae influence, Pepper’s newest endeavor features a pop-rock style more fit for the mainstream. Regardless, the band still stays true to their roots with lyrics focused on love and their love for having fun.
Pepper is fresh off a summer tour with The Dirty Heads and AER. The band recently released a live recording of an on-stage collaboration with DH’s Jared Watson on Pepper’s track, “Illuminate.” While on the tour, the band also made a stop at the Chicago-based Audiotree. As mentioned in a previous write up, the Audiotree Live sessions are increasingly becoming known to feature reggae-influenced artists in their live in-studio interview jam segments. Pepper’s session, originally recorded on July 18th, can be found here.
In addition, the trio from Hawaii just announced the premiere of a new song made available this morning courtesy of Red Bull Music. The track titled, “Every Little Thing,” features a collaboration with upcoming tour mates and fellow Southern California residents, New Beat Fund. According to Pepper, “We jumped in the lab with the New Beat Fund boys, went with the two heads are better than one theory, and came out the other end with this cherry on top. ‘Every Little Thing’ was such a blast, I can hear the fun from this tour already boiling over in the track – rhythms and melodies of the ensuing lifelong memories to come.”
Pepper’s upcoming Fall Tour with The Movement and New Beat Fund will feature 26 dates running from coast to coast. The tour starts tonight in Tucson, Arizona, and will travel eastward before returning to the west coast and wrapping things up with 5 shows in California. VIP tickets are available for all dates and will include a Meet and Greet with Pepper as well as photo opportunities, one VIP Poster autographed by the band and one commemorative VIP laminate. In addition, VIP ticket holders will be granted admission to the band’s Pre-Show Set, which will host songs that are determined by the VIP buyer’s votes.
