P. Diddy Tops ‘Forbes’ Wealthiest Artists List

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is at the top of Forbes‘ list of the Five Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists list. The mogul has a net worth of $735 million dollars, which is $35 million dollars more than Dr. Dre’s net worth. Dre was hailed hip hop’s first billionaire, after Apple purchased the producer’s Beats headphone company for $3.2 billion in 2014. The reality is, Dre had a twenty-five percent stake in the headphone company, and after Uncle Sam collected the taxes on the deal, the producer was left with $500 million dollars. Therefore, Forbes estimates Dre has a net worth of $700 million dollars, which ranks him at number two on the list. The number three spot belongs to Jay Z, whose net worth is $550 million, 50 Cent is ranked fourth with $155 million, and Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams was ranked at number five with a net worth of $150 million.

P. Diddy just announced that he is planning a major world tour, which will more than likely be his final tour run. “I’m gonna go and do a world tour. I’m not gonna hit a lot of places, but the places that I am gonna hit, it’s important for me because it’s probably my last time touring,” Diddy told Ellen DeGeneres. He added,”I’m gonna get to see the world and know that it’s my last time touring. I wanna be here to raise my girls, so that’s the decision that I made.” Diddy didn’t reveal when he plans on going on his final world tour.

Along with his world tour plans, Diddy announced his Bad Boy Records’ production team called The Hitmen, have reunited. The Hitmen consists of Steven “Stevie J” Jordan, Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie, Chucky Thompson, Nashiem Myrick, and Mario Winans. The mogul also revealed Kanye West has joined The Hitmen production group. The superproducers will provide the production for Diddy’s next album entitled MMM (Making Money Mitch). The Hitmen have worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, SWV, Lil Kim, The Lox, Mase, and more. Some of The Hitmen’s biggest hits include Mariah Carey’s “Honey” Remix, P. Diddy’s “I Need A Girl Part 1” featuring Usher and Loon, and Jodeci’s “Come & Talk To Me” Remix.
