P. Diddy Addresses Producing Kanye’s New Album

Some media outlets have reported P. Diddy is executive producing Kanye West’s upcoming album entitled Swish. The hip hop mogul revealed he doesn’t know if he will executive produce the album. “I’m definitely producing on his album, but I don’t know how it’s going to end up,” Diddy told Billboard magazine. He added,”It’s up to Kanye and how he sees the album going. But we’re definitely working together, producing a lot of records together and having a lot of fun.”

Although Diddy is uncertain about his involvement as West’s executive producer, the mogul definitively revealed that West has joined The Hitmen. The Hitmen are the official production team for Bad Boy Records. The production team consists of Mario Winans, Nashiem Myrick, Chucky Thompson, Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie, and Steven “Stevie J” Jordan. Along with Diddy’s upcoming Making Money Mitch album, the superproducers will work on other projects as well. In the past, The Hitmen have worked with Mariah Carey, Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, the Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, The LOX, and more.

Diddy was just named the richest hip hop artist on Forbes‘ Five Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists list. The mogul’s net worth is estimated at $735 million. Dr. Dre was ranked at number two with $700 million, the number three spot belongs to Jay Z with a net worth of $550 million, 50 Cent is fourth with $155 million, and Bryan “Birdman” Williams (CEO of Cash Money Records) is in fifth place with an earning of $150 million.

The mogul has dropped six studio albums including No Way Out, Forever, The Saga Continues…, We Invented the Remix, Press Play, and Last Train to Paris. Diddy’s sophomore album, Forever, features the singles “P.E. 2000,” “Satisfy You,” featuring R. Kelly, Do You Like It…Do You Want It…, and “Best Friend.” “Satisfy You” sold over two million copies worldwide, and it peaked at Number 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Hot Rap Singles chart. The single also reached Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. His latest effort entitled Last Train to Paris was dropped five years ago, and it was a project with his group Dirty Money. Six singles were dropped from the Last Train to Paris, which included “Angels,” “Hello Good Morning,” “Loving You No More,” “Coming Home,” “Your Love,” and “Ass on the Floor.”
