OneRepublic’s ‘Native’ is Certified Platinum

After selling 3,000 copies last week, OneRepublic‘s Native album reached one million in sales. This marks the band’s second album to go platinum, OneRepublic’s Dreaming Out Loud also sold a little over one million copies. The Native album produced six singles including “Feel Again,” “If I Lose Myself,” “Counting Stars,” “Something I Need,” “Love Runs Out,” and “I Lived.” The album reached Number 4 on the Billboard 200, and Number 9 on the UK Albums chart.

The band is currently on its Native Tour, which began in 2013. OneRepublic will travel to Bridgetown in order to take part in the Breakfast in Barbados event, for which fans can enter to win a chance to meet the band on April 16th. The rockers will stop in Canada for a few dates in Quebec (4/18), Montreal (4/20), Ottowa (4/21), London (4/22), Toronto (4/24), Sudbury (4/25), Winnipeg (4/27), Edmonton (4/29), Calgary (4/30), and Vancouver (5/2). The Native Tour will also travel to Israel, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Italy, Switzerland, and many other places during their summer leg. OneRepublic will wrap the tour on June 21st in Cape Town, South Africa.

Ryan Tedder, OneRepublic’s frontman, is also an accomplished songwriter and music producer. Tedder and Zedd co-wrote the EDM DJ and Selena Gomez’s “I Want You to Know,” which is Number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. It entered the Number 7 spot on the Digital Songs, after selling 100,000 downloads. “I Want You to Know” is Zedd’s fourth song to debut in Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. The EDM DJ’s “Clarity” featuring Foxes, “Stay the Night” featuring Hayley Williams, and Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” featuring Zedd, all reached the top 20 on the Hot 100. Besides working together on “I Want You to Know,” Tedder and Zedd collaborated on “Lost at Sea.” The song was featured on Zedd’s Clarity project.

Tedder’s songwriting and production resume also includes “XO” (Beyonce), “Halo” (Beyonce), “Bleeding Love” (Leona Lewis), “Already Gone” (Kelly Clarkson), and “Rumor Has It” (Adele). His work with Beyonce has earned him three Grammy Award nominations, including two nominations for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal for “Halo.” The record was awarded the Best Female Pop Vocal honor in 2009.
