One Direction’s First Interview as a Quartet

One Direction did their first interview as a four member group, following Zayn Malik‘s decision to leave the group in order to become a solo artist. The pop group discussed their future without Malik. “All four of us are 100 percent committed to staying in One Direction,” Louis Tomlinson told The Sun newspaper. The group said it has been rough getting used to not having Malik as a member of One Direction. “It’s been a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago,” Liam Payne revealed. He added,”We’re gutted that Zayn chose to leave but now after a few performances as a four piece, we’re feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever.”

Harry Styles stated that One Direction is working on a new album, and they are excited about working on their fifth studio project. The pop singer also said that dropping a fifth album is a testament to their loyal fans. “It shows how incredible the fans have been. A huge thank you to them for everything they’ve done for us. All the love to them,” Styles told The Sun.

One Direction have release four studio albums including Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, and Four. Their latest projectFour came out in 2014. “Steal My Girl,” “Night Changes,” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” (promo single) were dropped as singles from Four. The album has reached platinum-certification, becoming One Direction’s fourth platinum selling project. Besides reaching one million album sales, Four is the pop group’s fourth Number 1 album. Some of One Direction’s hit songs include “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Best Song Ever,” “You & I,” “Story of My Life,” “One Way or Another,” and “Live While We’re Young.”

One Direction are continuing on their On The Road Again Tour, which was launched in early February this year. The 80-date tour will wrap on October 31st in Sheffield (England). The worldwide dates includes shows in North and South America, Asia, Europe, South Africa, Australia, and the Middle East.

Just one week after Zayn Malik left One Direction, he dropped new music online. “I Won’t Mind” was posted online by producer Naughty Boy (Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, and Cheryl Cole), who Malik is currently working with. The song has already gained over 800,000 views on YouTube, and it has received mostly positive reviews from fans and the media. Even though the departure of Malik was shocking news, it should be noted that Malik was discovered on X Factor (along with his former group members) when he auditioned on the show as a solo act. After he left One Direction, Malik stated that he knows he is doing the right thing for his music career.

FDRMX Eyes: Nick Deutsch is a singer-songwriter based in New York. Deutsch recently revealed his latest music video for the song, “Crazy Ride.”
