Noel Gallagher’s ‘Chasing Yesterday’ Tops Chart

Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds have the Number 1 album on the UK Albums chart. Chasing Yesterday soared to the top of the charts, after selling 89,000 copies in its debut week. The band’s first album, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, was released in 2011. The project also went to Number 1 in the UK, Scotland, and Ireland. Last month, Gallagher revealed Massive Attackmay produce a remix version of Chasing Yesterday. The rocker said that Andy Weatherall, Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve, and Toy Drum have already contributed remixes to the album. There is not a release date for the remix album yet, but Gallagher promised it will come out some time in the near future.

One would assume Gallagher would be enjoying the release and success of his new album, but the rocker has recently been causing quite a stir on Facebook. Several weeks ago, Gallagher criticized some people who were praising R&B megastar Beyoncé. “If shaking your ass for a living is considered art, then she’s right up there,” the rocker stated. A few days ago, Taylor Swift fans were complementing her songwriting ability, and Gallagher decided to chime in on this discussion too. “You’re f***ing lying. She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words and you f***ing know it,” the rocker wrote.

Who knows why Gallagher decided to make such remarks about two accomplished women in the music business? Beyoncé was also recently criticized by Kid Rock, who told Rolling Stone magazine he doesn’t know why she’s the biggest star on the planet. One can make the argument that, maybe Gallagher and Kid Rock are only going after Beyoncé and Swift because they are very successful artists who sell millions of records.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are currently on tour, which includes stops in UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Japan. The band will travel to North America in May, which will begin in Canada on the 3rd. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ North America dates also include stops in Los Angeles, Boston, Las Vegas, Dallas, New York, and more. They will also perform at the Governors Ball Music Festival onJune 7th.

FDRMX Eyes: India’s The Other People have recently premiered their music video entitled “So Damn Beautiful.” “So Damn Beautiful” addresses the empowerment of women, encouraging them to take a stand and be self-confident.
