Nick Jonas Not Joining Azalea Tour in September

Iggy Azalea postponed her Great Escape Tour, which was supposed to launch in April. The rapper’s label, Def Jam Recordings, stated they need more time to prepare for Azalea’s tour. The Great Escape Tour has been rescheduled, and it will launch on September 18th in San Diego (CA). Unfortunately, the tour’s opening acts, Nick Jonas and Tinashe, will not join Azalea on her rescheduled tour. Both artists announced on social media that they will instead embark on solo live tours. Jonas is expected to announce his spring tour dates soon, and Tinashe is expected to go on tour this summer. Azalea has not announced the new opening acts for her Great Escape Tour as of yet.

On March 28th, Nick Jonas will host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards on March 28th. Some of the nominees for the award show include Iggy Azalea (“Fancy”), Katy Perry (“Dark Horse”), and Ariana Grande (“Bang Bang”), who are all up for the Favorite Song of the Year award. Jonas will compete against Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, and more for Favorite Male Singer. The rest of the nominations can be viewed on Nickelodeon’s website.

Jonas will open the awards show with a performance of his hit single “Jealous.” Iggy Azalea, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Jennifer Hudson will also perform at the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards. Azalea and Jennifer Hudson are expected to perform their new single “Trouble” at the show. “Trouble” was released on February 24th, and it reached the Number 14 position on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. The music video for the song also premiered last month.

5 Seconds of Summer, who are nominated for Favorite New Artist, spoke to People magazine about going to the awards show for the first time. “We are so excited to be nominated and perform at the Kids’ Choice Awards. It’s our first time at the show, and it’s going to be awesome,” the group told People. 5 Seconds of Summer are currently the opening act for One Direction’s On The Road Again Tour, which launched last month in Australia. Besides Australia, the 80-date tour will also travel to Asia, South Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The On The Road Again Tour will wrap on October 31st in Sheffield, England.
