You Need to Watch This Honest Trailer for ‘Kingsman’

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a spy movie that truly lives up to its genre; nobody saw this movie coming. This year has already been packed with such huge movies that some may fall to the wayside, but Kingsman: The Secret Service pulled a 180-degree turn and blew everyone’s minds. Sure, when we first saw the trailer, we thought, “Okay, not bad. Maybe I’ll watch it when it comes out on-demand,” but those who went to see Kingsman on opening weekend quickly spread the word through social media that this was a spectacle beyond all description.

The guys over at the Screen Junkies Youtube channel have perfectly captured what is so awesome about this movie in their “honest” trailer. This movie was a love letter to the James Bond franchise for sure, but the modern twists are so outrageous that it became something entirely unique.  The hilarious video pokes fun at Kingsman while still giving it all the respect and praise it deserves.

Kingsman really, really wants to make sure you know you’re not watching a James Bond film. It achieves this seamlessly (not so seamlessly as seen in the video, though), and it has a plot line that is quite elaborate for no particular reason.  It’s fun and wild and crazy, and you will love yourself for having watched it.

Perhaps one of the reasons I love this video so much is because it truly captures the essence of the comic book-like nature of the film. The original graphic novel The Secret Service: Kingsman by famed comic book author Mark Millar seems like it simply transformed into a movie. I can see where the panels break up, and each chapter ends. Its colorful, vibrant scenery and over-the-top plot twists make me feel like a little kid again watching Sean Connery Bond films with my dad. I can feel the beats of the graphic novel as I’m watching this movie (for the third time now), and it is most certainly worthy of the praise it receives in this video. With that in mind, watch and enjoy the Screen Junkies’ honest trailer for Kingsman: The Secret Service.
