Must-See Concerts on the Fourth of July 2015

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, most people are preparing to have a barbecue in their backyard or watch fireworks from the center of a baseball field. However, if you’re looking for something different (and still extremely fun) to do this Fourth of July, there are a ton of free concerts that you should check out!

If you are in the Philadelphia area, the “Fourth of July Jam Concert and Grand Finale Fireworks” is a must. Starting at 8 PM, many incredible performers will grace the stage at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway including The Roots, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, and Miguel. Immediately following the concert, at approximately 10:30, there will also be a fireworks display that you will be able to watch with your friends and loved ones. This is the largest free concert in America, so it will undoubtedly be a great time!

If you are in the southern California area, I highly recommend the “2015 Summer of Music Free Concert Series” in Redondo Beach. This is the largest free concert series in southern California and on the fourth of July, and it will feature music from Rewind (Classic Hits), BackTracks (Classic Rock), and That Cover Band (music from the 1960s to the 1990s). All ages are welcome and it is highly recommended to bring blankets or small beach chairs.

If you are in the New York City area, the South Street Seaport Fourth of July Festival is the place to be. Starting at 1 PM and continuing all throughout the day, artists will be performing on two different stages in the Seaport District (the Fulton Street Stage on the corner of Fulton and Water Streets and the Peck Slip Stage on the corner of Peck Slip and Front Streets). The line-up is set to include Freedy Johnston, Jess Lenat, Doll Parts, The Blue Vipers, Elk City, and many more. At the end of this festival, there will be a fireworks display as well, presented by Macy’s.

As you can clearly see, there are a ton of awesome free concerts to attend this Fourth of July instead of a barbecue or a tailgate party. We hope you enjoy these suggestions and have a great Fourth of July!
