Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like a Teen Spirit’ which was released 25 years ago in 1991 on the 27th of August revolutionized the way we view alternative rock. Dubbed the greatest hit Nirvana ever released, it comes as no surprise that this famous hit song has had numerous covers over the years, one of those cover songs being MusicSnake’s own half cover. Find out if they managed to do the song justice here below in the following review.

What makes this cover worthwhile and captivating is the fact that the band, MusicSnake, used their original music as well as incorporating Nirvana’s text. This makes for an engaging half cover song that will leave fans of the original song quite impressed by what these artists have been able to create. It is honestly a great reproduction, and you can feel the musicality and soul in how the track is delivered.

The lyrics to the song are interesting while remaining meaningful and include some really nice punchlines. MusicSnake greatly combined their own original lyrics with Nirvana’s lyrics to produce a masterpiece that is strong and tuneful. The words bring you right into the heart of the song, and the lead singer Fred King delivers a notable performance of this classic tune.

The other notable feature in this MusicSnake’s rendition is the fact that the live band chose to use their own instruments. Actually, the live background music integrates so well with the song that it would even feel sinister had they been removed. All the elements in the band, from the lead singer to the instrumentalists combine to create an incredible performance.

Ultimately, this particular rendition of Nirvana’s world famous single “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by MusicSnake is quite an experience. It offers a unique view of this iconic view and takes the listener back to 1991 when Nirvana was at their peak, and the legendary Kurt Cobain was delivering these lines. If you want to discover something new, beautiful, strange and entirely accessible, yet still undiscovered by many people, you should definitely listen to this half cover tune by MusicSnake.

The message of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is definitely worth repeating, today more than ever, and MusicSnake manages to do an exemplary job. Check out the video here and be sure to share and leave a comment.
