Mumford and Sons Will Be Musical Guests on SNL

Mumford and Sons will be the musical guests on Saturday Night Live on April 11th, according to NME. The band’s SNL appearance will be in accordance with the release of their upcoming album Wilder Mind. The album will be dropped on May 4th, and it features the lead single “Believe.” “Believe” was released earlier this month, and has impacted the Hot Rock Songs chart at Number 4. The record has also entered the charts in Australia, Canada, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Actress Taraji P. Henson will host Saturday Night Live on the night Mumford and Sons will make their guest appearance. Henson is one of the co-stars on Empire, which is one of the most successful shows in television history. Empire increased its viewing audience in every episode, which broke Nielsen records. It was also the Number 1 network television drama amongst young adults. Empire also stars Terrence Howard, who plays the role of Lucious Lyon. The Lyon character is the CEO of a successful record label named Empire Entertainment. Henson plays Cookie Lyon, who is the ex-wife of Lucious Lyon. Trai Byers (Andre Lyon), Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon), Bryshere Gray (Hakeem Lyon), and Grace Gealey (Anika Calhoun) are the other stars on the hit television show.

Although Empire recently aired its season finale, Lee Daniels (Empire’s creator), and the producers and writers are already preparing for Season 2 of the series. The first Season featured guest appearances by Courtney Love, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Gladys Kinight, Anthony Hamilton, and more. The expectations for the second season are extremely high, but the writers plan on delivering an even more explosive Season 2. 

The Empire television soundtrack entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at Number 1. The project sold more than 130,000 copies in it first week. The soundtrack featured guest appearances from Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Estelle, Juicy J, Courtney Love, and Rita Ora. Two singles have been released from the Empire soundtrack. Estelle and Jussie Smollett’s “Conqueror” is Number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Jussie Smollett and Yazz’s “You’re So Beautiful” is currently at the Number 47 position.
