It’s no secret that the pits of certain stone fruits contain cyanide, but do you know how much caffeine it would take to put you six feet under? The answer to that, and more, can be found in “This Much Will Kill You,” a video by AsapSCIENCE. The video raises an important point: too much (or, in the case of air, too little) of anything can kill you; it’s less about the substance and more about how much of it you put in your body. For example, it would take 70 cups of coffee to potentially cause heart palpitations or cardiac arrest, but you would only have to chew up a few cherry pits before you started suffering significant displeasure due to cyanide poisoning.
