Miranda Cosgrove: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)

You probably know Miranda Cosgrove best from the hit television show iCarly, but how much do you really know about her? The 22-year-old is coming into her own, and she shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. You might think you know Cosgrove, but we bet you don’t know these things! With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Miranda Cosgrove. Number Fifteen: She Almost Wasn’t iCarlyIn fact, the writers of the show almost named her character Sam or Josie! The idea of naming her character Carly came from Steve Molaro, who is also the executive producer for The Big Bang Theory.

Number Fourteen: She Makes Videos With Friends in Real Life. Just like her character on the show, Cosgrove enjoys making random videos with friends in her spare time. She revealed this to Jimmy Kimmel in an interview.

Number Thirteen: Her Career Began With Commercials. Cosgrove has been acting since she was just three years old. She started her career by acting in commercials, and her film debut was in 2003 when she played the character of Summer Hathaway in School of Rock.

Number Twelve: She Earned $180,000 Per Episode of iCarlyAs of May 2010, Cosgrove was earning nearly $200,000 for each episode of iCarly. In terms of what child stars make, that’s quite the hefty salary. She was, at the time, the second-highest-paid child star on television.

Number Eleven: She Was Almost Co-Stars With Christina Ricci. After iCarly ended in 2012, Cosgrove began working on an NBC series called Girlfriend in a Coma, which also starred Christina Ricci. However, after Ricci left the show, it was cancelled.

Number Ten: She Is Also a Voice Actor. In case you’ve seen Despicable Me 2, pay close attention to the character of Margo. The character is voiced by Cosgrove herself!

Number Nine: She Collaborated With Avril Lavigne. Cosgrove has tried her hand in he music industry in addition to the acting industry. In 2011, Cosgrove released her first single from her second EP, titled “Dancing Crazy.” The song was written by none other than Avril Lavigne.
